  • Subversion hosting

Next week all the Telligenti developers - me included - are going to Dallas for another get-together. Should be a lot of fun in the evenings, but I have some work to do before I go. Although I have a kickass laptop I do all my work on the desktop, so I'm busy moving things over so I can continue working next week. There's a surprising ...

  • Thread was being aborted

I hate seeing this error. Last night I moved this web site to another server and when I ran the site I got a YSOD telling me "Thread was being aborted" and "The type initializer for 'CommunityServer.Components.CSUrlReWriter' threw an exception". I won't bore you with the hour of bumbling around checking ...

  • Using updated CSS files

Some browsers just don't seem to "get" the idea behind shared files like CSS or Javascript files. For a while now I've been uploading updates to a web site and noticing that the browser continues to use the old version. That's pretty dumb. Caching - wherever it happens - is supposed to keep a copy for speed of access and ...

  • ..and fun too!

With all the heads-down large release work going on until the end of the year, it's nice to report on a project from Telligent that went from an idea to completion in an insanely short period of time.. although all you can see for the next week is a teaser. [include:blogad]

  • Vista Blog on Community Server

Yesterday the new Vista blog launched with a post from Jim Allchin. Our guys did a great job with the visuals of the Community Server 2.1 SP1 site, don't you think? I thought it was interesting that Jim's family are all running Vista, even the seven year old. Extreme dogfooding! [include:blogad]

  • 404's and Master Pages

Three weeks since my last post, and I've had something interesting to talk about almost every day. The last few days have been a blur of typing as I implement the coolest thing since sliced bread. But I can't tell you about it, so you'll have to put up with my silence until it goes to Beta at least. I know that sucks, but you've ...

  • Resolving relative URL's from code

By now most people will know about ResolveURL and use it whenever they need to reference a page that may be in a different folder. I still regularly see user conrols that reference images using plain paths though, and they only work when you use them from certain folders. Create a new folder and use the existing user controls in there and suddenly ...
