  • Flights Dont have To Suck

So, I'm flying to Dallas tomorrow to spend the week planning Community Server 3.0 with the gang - it's going to be great and coincides with the Launch Party for Community Server 2.0 that was launched today. (If you've ever had a bad CS experience, I'm going to beg you try a simple install once more. The product is very, very nice.) But ...

  • Blurb

This is quite exciting - a cheap way to get published in hardback. Can you imagine how much your other half would like one about the kids? I can't wait to get into that Beta.. via The Head Lemur (but there's still no way you're going to sell your roof) [include:blogad]

  • End of an era

OurLittleNet's domains are expiring, and today I notice that www.OurRoswell.net is starting to fail when requested. Only the alternative RoswellGA.ourlittle.net domains will continue to work. It's the end of an era. The Our Roswell website went live (on it's own) on September 3rd 2002 after a year or so building it in my spare time. The ...

  • GMTD

My name is James Shaw and I'm addicted to email. I'm a big GTD fan, and if you have a growing pile of papers on your desk or more than 10 emails in your Inbox you should try it. My Inbox is usually empty. That's great, but it's mainly due to a much-worse (and not uncommon) email-related problem - I can't help checking my email. I had my ...

  • Adsense gets evil

Still don't think that Google is Evil? How about this little jewel about Google AdSense beta testing floating, expanding, interstitial ads. Oh Goody. via raving lunacy [include:blogad]

  • ASP.NET Hosting under $5

A couple of years ago Scott Guthrie mentioned at dinner one evening that his goal was to encourage hosting companies to offer ASP.NET hosting with SQL Server for under $5 a month. It seemed quite unlikely to me that it would happen without MSFT subsidizing it, but this morning Scott pointed us to the hosting section on www.asp.net where ...

  • Creepy Guy?..

..or is a mannequin? Either way, this strikes me as a slightly weird picture to promote your product with. Kinda like a mannequin-rapist-slasher movie poster. I find this deeply disturbing. Or did I just have too much coffee today? [include:blogad]

  • First day with Tivo

Setup was EASY! Even the clunky looking IR to change channels on my cable box works. It'll take a few days to get used to the new Guide - I have to teach my young kids how to change Guide to Filter All on Children - but generally the Guide is much better than the Charter Cable one. Being able to see what's on later on your favorite channels is ...

  • American Express Are Dumb

I'm pissed off and I'm hoping that ranting here will help. When I rant like this I cling to the extremely remote hope that someone in charge will someday read this. It could happen! My problem today is that American Express' web site was designed and/or implemented by dickheads. Here's one example that keeps trippng me up - you can enter a ...
