Get outta my way, Error List!
This is probably an oldie, but only today have I lost patience with the Error List window. I'm fed up with the hundreds of HTML validation errors it shows, hiding the real build errors. Half the time my HTML source view shows that <asp tags are unrecognised anyway.
But the error list keeps bobbing up and down today while I'm trying to just type in some bloody text boxes. It's happened so much recently doing this skinning work that it just became the best use of my time to find the option and blog about it so others can kill this annoying window.
The output window is more reliable anyway and seems to be the only way to see the real (first) error.
So, the setting to kill the error list in HTML view is Tools/Options/Text Editor/HTML/Validation/Show errors.
There will be plenty of people wanting to patiently explain that I should a) use the correct validation target b) fix HTML errors and c) not make it easier for developers to get into bad habits. You're probably right.
