Uh-oh, perhaps SmarterMail is innocent..

Steve Schofield at ORCS Web just pointed me to a very worrying article:

Why Outlook 2007 is slow: Microsoft’s official answer

My personal PST is 2.6gb.

I am going to SHIT A BRICK if this is true - can Outlook 2007 really be worse than 2003 with large amounts of email?

You know, I've been bugging one of my buddies via IM about how I've recently become trained like one of pavlov's dogs by the churning on my HD to let me know that I'm getting new email. I've actually been meaning to blog about it, but your posts have pushed me over the edge: http://blog.angrypets.com/2007/02/trusting_my_inn.html Too funny. And let me know how it goes with that brick. Er, well, on second thought... maybe not. But thanks for the great link...

How old are the messages in there? I usually break my PST files up by year. Have the main one, which is the current yet, then every year, create one called "2006 Archives" and move everything into it. With this, my PSTs are usually about 1gb/year.
