  • Bloggers are good for my soul

    Well, kinda.

I work remotely, so I tend to talk to myself a lot. And you of course.

And since I don't get out much, and when I do the car radio seems to play the same top 10 hits over and over - and over, how am I ever supposed to find new music?

    Bloggers, that's how.

Hugh just linked to Kat, who has a control that plays music when you visit her site. It was playing a "6 Underground" remix which blew me away - probably old to you "real world" people, but I loved it.

My own bonus link: when I bought it on iTunes (actually I got two versions), they are mislabelled. Both are on the "Becoming remixed" album by Sneaker Pimps, but my favorite one is incorrectly called "Walking Zero"

UPDATE: Oh yeah, it's old alright. I need to get out more (big surprise)

Dear Mr. Inside, I am so glad you enjoyed my site. Those Pimps are something else, are they not? Ta, Kat

You might consider a Yahoo Music subscription if you like to discover new tunes. Since it's a subscription, ya don't need to worry about paying for most songs - alot of their archives are available to freely download, stream, or copy to a portable playsforsure player (including WinMobile 5). What's unique about Yahoo is their really powerful recommendations based on how you (and people like you) rate music. The only downside is that the software is kinda slow and frustratingly buggy at times. Luckily, downloaded tracks can play/sync from Windows Media Player, too :-) Anyway, I use it all the time to discover a lot of new, obscure bands - even stuff that doesn't get radio play!
