TiVo Desktop
TiVo does take some getting used to. It's so weird not sitting down to watch a show when you know it's on. There were a few problems finding a reliable IR code (on one occasion it would only change to channels that didn't have a 6 in them), but I found one eventually.
The best thing I did was get the wireless adaptor to connect to my network. No phone line required any more, but better than that is the ability to transfer my shows to my computer. I can then watch them on my computer, burn them to DVD or still watch them on the TiVo! My computer got added to the Now Playing list, so I can easily browse my transferred shows.
Yeah, this might all be old news to many people, but I mention it just in case.
Shame I can't play my music on the TiVo as promised though - my library is all in WMA. (Never had a need (until now) for real MP3, my "MP3 player" is my Pocket PC phone, also with Media Player).
But it did save me tonight. I'm not watching that Earl show, so I nipped in here to watch Street Rodder on the computer. Just hit transfer then play. Awesome. Uh, just starting, gotta go..
