  • Driveway, Painting, Carpets

Driveway, Painting, Carpets - sounds like a simple list of things that our realtor wants us to fix, doesn't it? It's simple from the point of view that for the most part we're just opening our check books and paying for the jobs to be done (although Tara is painting half the house herself).

But this last month has been a dusty mess!

All the furniture in every room (yes, my office too) is moved into a pile in the middle of the room so that the painters can paint.

I'm still working, hidden amongst the piles of furniture and boxes. Quite cosy really, if it wasn't for the crews of painters all chattering away.

Then the carpet guys move from room to room removing the furniture anyway.

    Chaos.

This morning though Mike McMahon and his concrete crew turned up to fix our driveway. We have 600ft, so we're not digging the whole thing up (that would cost a LOT)  but we're cutting out all the broken parts and pressure washing the rest.  You should see Mike. There's a saying in England "Built like a brick sh$%house" - that's Mike. Sitting in his Bobcat he looks just like a Rescue Hero that Jesse has - except his feet are too small.

Watching him remove the driveway made me think that this guy could demolish our house in a few minutes. I ought to offer him a drink. Perhaps a protein shake.
