Newsgator 2.5

Did you realize that Newgator for Outlook doesn't check the blogs directly anymore - it goes to newsgator's cache of the blogs. From the horses mouth:

"The way the sync system works is that we download posts from the NewsGator content service instead of the raw xmlUrl that your blog syndicates. We do this so we can add ID's to each post and know which ones you've read. This means that your post first has to be detected by our Content Service and added to our system before NGOE will download it into Outlook. The content service checks for new posts every hour, so it could take up to an hour before you see it in Outlook. "

VERY interesting..

Won't this cause them to have huge data transfer costs? Since we're now all talking to them instead of the blogs? Of course, the blogs save a bundle because Newsgator users don't talk to the site anymore..
