Random Kiwi Thoughts

Some random thoughts about New Zealand and Kiwi's:

  • It's just like England. Small cars, smaller houses, miserable weather
  • I love miserable weather; reminds me of my childhood
  • All women have dyed hair, mostly a dark purply/red color.
  • I keep walking into people because people walk just as they drive - something I never thought of but it's obvious really. Over here, you drive on the left. So when walking down the pavement/sidewalk you also walk on the left. In the States everyone walks on the right, so I'm constantly walking out of stores and turning into the flow of traffic (i.e. walking into people). As you approach someone we both step the same way to pass. I'm amazed I have't caused someone a trip to the ER yet.
  • My hotel, The Chateau on the Park,  is great. Rooms are the same the world over of course, but they have Full English Breakfast. For the heathens amongst you, that means REAL bacon (meat, not fat, cooked, not crispy), REAL sausages, baked beans, tomatoes, eggs, toast. Real cups of tea forgodssake. PORRIDGE!!

I'm really getting a kick from being here. I'll never move back to England, but I sure do miss the old ways sometimes..
