URL123

www.URL123.com is a site that I take for granted now, and when I used it this morning I realized that I hadn't told you about it.

It's a URL-shortening service run by my friend Francesco Sanfilippo

Everyone at some point will want to send a link to a web page to someone else. The problem is that sending someone a link like http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cscon/html/vclrfgettingstarted_pg.asp in your email will probably result in problems - in many email clients the link will be wrapped onto multiple lines and cannot just be clicked on.

The answer is URL123.

I use the optional IE bookmarklet, so all I have to do is click on the URL123 link in my IE toolbar and URL123 automatically gives me a shorter URL that redirects to the current page!

In this case, I was given http://url123.com/y8q4s - a little shorter, but still has the same result.

URL123 is (or was) a service written by friend Francesco that made it really easy to shorten URL's.
