My 37 Ford - kinda

Did I ever introduce you to my first love - building racing cars? This is back before ASP, ASP.NET or web sites were on my resume, back in England pre-1998.

Actually, cars were really pre-1994 when my first child was born. (I always wondered when I went to rod runs why there were people in their 20's and 50's, but few in between. Now I know)

I won't blather on about cars here, since I have nothing new to add to my old Home page (forgive me, that is old) - but I came across pictures of the only car that I still have; my 37 Ford road racer. I haven't even lifted the cover for 3 years, but I'll get back to it one day. The joke is that I'm waiting for Jesse (now 5) to grow up enough to help.

Looks close, doesn't it? Unfortunately what you are looking at is a "buck", not a real body. It's all 2x4, chicken wire, foam and bondo. I need to make moulds and new body pieces from this.

However, I have driven this on some race tracks in France. I was sitting in my seat inside a roll cage, but with no body on. It was fun still being able to pass a Ferrari on the straight (they are normally driven by people who are far too careful with their cars to be allowed on a race track).
